Greenway closure – your chance to find out more

MULTI-million pounds plans which will see a new trunk sewer laid along the length of the Spen Valley Greenway will be the subject of a public drop-in in Dewsbury.
Yorkshire Water staff and representatives from contractors Mott MacDonald Bentley will be on hand to answer questions about the project, due to start in January.
It had initially been thought the work, which will see the Greenway dug up in two sections, would start this month.
The first phase will begin at the company's Mitchell Laithes sewage works in Dewsbury, which has recently received a £25m upgrade. The pipeline will then follow the line of the Greenway to Heckmondwike.
The second phase, due to begin next July, will then take the pipeline on from Heckmondwike to Yorkshire Water's sewage treatment works at Bierley, just above Chain Bar.
The session will be held at Boothroyd Junior School in Temple Road on Wednesday from 4.30pm until 7pm.
More sessions will be held before work begins.
YW says the work is necessary in order to comply with the European Fresh Water Fish Directive which becomes law in the UK in 2010.
