A RAMBLER led his fiancee from coast to coast as he celebrated his 14th fundraising trek along the famous route.
Veteran coast to coast walker Richard Chapman and newcomer Natalie Common completed the 192-mile trek in aid of Dewsbury and District Hospital’s neo-natal unit.

The pair took nine-and-a-half days to complete the walk from St Bees Head in Cumbria to Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire.

Richard, of Windsor View, Shaw Cross, said: “The first part there was quite a lot of rain but the second half we had more sun. Some of the paths were quite muddy but apart from that it was good going.”

Natalie, of Ings Road, Heckmondwike, said she enjoyed her first trip along the route so much that she hoped to do it again. She said: “It was really great, a very interesting walk. It was tiring at first but I really enjoyed it and the views were amazing.”

To make a donation, ring Richard on 01924 438741 and leave a message.
