A THORNHILL family have raised more than £1,000 for charity with their annual Christmas lights display.
Tony Salmon, Samantha Marston and their children Bethanie and Eloise have presented a cheque for £1,008.44 to the Sick Children's Trust after another successful festive switch-on.

Bethanie, a Reporter Champion Child, was born with progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis, a rare liver disease which affects just 30 children in the UK every year.

The trust helps families with very ill children by offering them accommodation near hospitals.

Ms Marston said Eckersley House was a lifeline to her family when Bethanie was being treated.
