Dewsbury fire crew support Covid-19 testing at hospital

A team of firefighters helped a mid Yorkshire hospital with coronavirus (Covid-19) testing.

Dewsbury White Watch lent gazebos to support NHS workers at Fieldhead Hospital, in Wakefield, during essential Covid-19 testing.

The fire crew helped set up an Enhanced Briefing Facility to be used as a testing site for essential workers.

Spokeswoman for Southwest Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Julie Eskins said: "A massive thank you to @WYFRS for lending us gazebos to support Covid-19 testing for essential workers and families.

"Just in time as poured with rain this afternoon. Communities working together."

Rob Webster, chief executive of South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, said: “It's always important for partners to come together to support our local communities. Testing is a significant part of our work now and for the future.

"We are extremely grateful to West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service for their support which helped our teams to quickly set up, develop and deliver this essential service.”
